Feeling Neglected In Delhi, Is Shahsi Tharoor Trying His Luck In Kerala

New Delhi: Within the Congress party, for the second time in just two months, there has been an attempt to clip Shashi Tharoor's wings.

Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor surprised the people by securing more than a thousand votes in front of Mallikarjun Kharge in the election for the post of Congress President.

Generally, within a party like the Congress, a leader contesting for such a big post has been accommodated with some other post.

Shashi Tharoor was among the first to reach Mallikarjun Kharge's house to congratulate him on his victory. He had also told the victory of Mallikarjun Kharge as the victory of the party.

But people inside and outside the party were taken by surprise when Tharoor was neither included in the steering committee of the Congress. He was also not in the list of star campaigners for the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections.

Tharoor faced difficulties in Kerala also

It seems that after feeling neglected in Delhi, Tharoor decided to try his luck in Kerala. However, he has also faced difficulties in Kerala.

In fact, Youth Congress had invited Shashi Tharoor to speak on 'Challenges of Sangh Parivar and Secularism' at a function organized in Kozhikode.

But under pressure from senior party leaders, the Youth Congress leaders cancelled the programme. Not only this, he has also been accused of not participating in Congress protests and being involved in factionalism.

Warm welcome in Thiruvananthapuram

Shashi Tharoor recently received a warm welcome upon his return to Thiruvananthapuram after completing his tour in the Northern parts of Kerala. There is an ongoing tussle between Tharoor and state party leadership and there is no restriction on Congress leaders, workers or others from attending any event involving Tharoor.

The people of Kerala are seeing him as an alternative face of the Congress, some are even seeing him as the chief minister face for the assembly elections that are four years away.
