Delhi MCD Election 2022 Result Will Also Affect National Politics

New Delhi: The people of the capital Delhi are voting for the integrated Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Sunday. The voters of Delhi have to decide which political party they want to put in power in the Municipal Corporation.
Although the election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has always been considered as a high profile election, but this time the election is very special in itself. Whatever may be the result, it is sure to have far-reaching political impact and it will not be limited only to Delhi, but its impact on the politics of the country will also be clearly visible in the days to come.

That's why both the political parties of Delhi's politics, Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party, have given their full strength in the MCD elections. Despite facing continuous defeat in Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, BJP remained virtually unbeatable in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. Despite reaching the peak of their popularity, neither Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dixit could defeat BJP nor Arvind Kejriwal could defeat them. Significantly, since the year 2007, the BJP has maintained a strong hold in the Municipal Corporation.

This election is important for BJP

In 2022, while on the one hand, BJP wants to prove once again by winning the MCD elections that the people of Delhi may not have voted it to victory in the assembly elections, but it remains the first choice of the people in the municipal elections. This time's victory will enthuse the BJP cadre and it is sure to have an impact on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well.

Aam Aadmi Party wants to win at any cost

On the other hand, for the Aam Aadmi Party, this election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has become very special in many ways, winning which is considered very important in view of their future politics. The Aam Aadmi Party, which has aspirations of expansion in national politics, needs a booster to win the municipal elections because if it wins this election by defeating the BJP, then it will get a chance to say that it has the ability to defeat the BJP. Delhi's victory will increase Kejriwal's stature in national politics, on the other hand, his acceptance among the opposition parties will also increase.
