S Jaishankar Responds To Pakistan's Comment On Kashmir In UN

After Pakistan's comment on Kashmir in the United Nations, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has responded on the same platform. S Jaishankar said that the country which hosted Osama bin Laden, which attacked its neighbor's parliament...is not capable of preaching at a powerful platform like UN.

Hitting back at Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, Jaishankar said that the world can’t accept normalisation of threats like terrorism.

Jaishankar reached the United Nations on Tuesday, where two important events are taking place on Counter Terrorism and Reformed Multilateralism (Multilateralism) under the presidency of India in the Security Council. The discussion on multilateralism was chaired by Ruchira Kamboj, India's permanent member in the UN. Meanwhile, Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto raised the Kashmir issue.

Credibility of UN depends on its response to key challenges

S Jaishankar said the credibility of the UN depends on its effective response to the key challenges of our times, be it pandemics, climate change, conflicts or terrorism.

"We are obviously focused today on the urgency of reforming multilateralism. We will naturally have our particular views, but there is a growing convergence at least that this cannot be delayed any further," said Mr Jaishankar, who is chairing India's signature event on reformed multilateralism.

His strong remarks came after Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto raised the Kashmir issue while speaking in the Council debate on reformed multilateralism.
