Weather News: Cold Wave Alert In These States, What The Weather Be like On Christmas


New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a drop of 2-4 degree Celsius in temperature over other parts of the country as well as central India and Maharashtra amid cold wave conditions and rains in some parts of the country.

Cold wave in 5 states

An outbreak of cold wave can be seen in the country from 23 December. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold wave can be seen in Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and North Rajasthan for the next five days. The wind speed will also be high in the morning.

Cold day conditions over many parts of Punjab

Skymet Weather said fog persisted throughout the day over many parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan and did not allow the temperatures to rise much. Cold day conditions were observed over many parts of Punjab. Maximum temperature of Amritsar was just 11.8 degrees. Similarly, Ganganagar in another Rajasthan recorded 13 degrees. Maximus of Ludhiana, Patiala, Hisar and Karnal remained between 14 and 16 degrees.

Dense fog on Christmas

The Meteorological Department says that dense fog can be seen on Christmas. Due to which the mercury of the day will fall, due to this people will feel shivering cold and chill. Due to excess, there is a possibility of deep fog.

In the coming days, there is a possibility of very dense fog in the night and morning hours in Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The temperature in these states is also falling rapidly. According to the estimates of the Meteorological Department, the temperature may reach three to four degrees in the coming days.

Possibility of rain with snowfall 

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain along with snowfall in the mountains of Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from today. In the Himalayan regions, the temperature has gone down to minus. 

In many places people have faced water problems as the water has turned into ice. Apart from these states, rain warnings have been issued in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

Temp drops in Delhi

In Delhi, the temperature dropped to 7 degrees at seven in the morning. Whereas today the maximum temperature can remain up to 19 degrees. The way the temperature is falling in the capital, it is clear that the coming days will be difficult.
