Who Is Indian Origin Nikki Haley Likely To Contest Next Election Of US President

Washington: Indian-origin Republican leader Nikki Haley has announced to contest the 2024 presidential election in the US. For this, she has presented her claim.

Ms. Haley is a former governor of South Carolina and a former US ambassador to the United Nations. She announced to contest the presidential election late on Tuesday evening.

A rising Republican star

Haley has long been seen as a rising Republican star: someone who broke the party’s white, male mold, rejecting some right-wing extremes without alienating too many base voters.

From the moment she was elected governor in 2010, Haley drew attention as a woman in a party dominated by men, a daughter of Indian immigrants in a party dominated by white people.

She was the first woman and first person of colour to lead South Carolina. At 38, she became the youngest governor of any state at the time and went on to become the first Indian American in a presidential cabinet.

Haley called for US to move its Israeli Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

At the United Nations, Haley was a face of the Trump administration’s policies on Israel, North Korea, Russia and Syria.

She accused the U.N. of bullying Israel for its treatment of Palestinians and called for the United States to move its Israeli Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. She supported sanctions against North Korea over its nuclear program.

First major challenger to Trump for the Republican nomination

Ms. Haley has become the first major challenger to former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination after declaring to run for the 2024 presidential election. She said two years ago that she would not challenge her former boss, Trump, for the White House in 2024.

It has become clear that she will present a challenge to former President Donald Trump. She presented his claim for the presidential elections through a video.

Was not a challenge to Trump 2 years back

Two years ago she was not a challenge to Trump, but now she has changed her mind. In fact, Indian-origin American Republican Party leader Nikki Haley had given indications of contesting the US presidential election 2024 against the current President Joe Biden only last month.

'It's time for a new generation, new leadership'

In a Fox News interview in January, when American Republican Party leader Haley was asked whether she was going to contest the 2024 US presidential election, she replied, "It's time for a new generation, it's time for new leadership." is, and it's time to take our country back. America is ready to fight and we're just getting started."

Actually Nikki had said in April 2021 that she would not enter the field when former President Donald Trump was in the race for the 2024 White House election, but in January she said in an interview that the Republican Party also needed young leadership.

Said she can emerge as a leader to take US in a new direction

Haley had said that  Biden was not entitled to a second term. He said there was a need to bring Republicans back into government who can lead and win elections.

Significantly, the presidential election in America is going to be held on November 5, 2024. In this interview, she also said that she feels that she can emerge as a leader to take the country in a new direction.
