Bhopal: Speaker Girish Gautam passed the censure motion brought by a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA against the news company BBC in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly today by voice vote.
This proposal was brought by BJP MLA Shailendra Jain during Zero Hour. Presenting this proposal, he said that BBC released a documentary on 17 February 2023 to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country.
The BJP MLA said the documentary 'India: The Modi Question' misrepresents the events that took place in Gujarat in 2002. BBC has spoken a lie by ignoring the decision of the Supreme Court on this subject.
Jain said that this documentary is contempt of court and the House condemns it. He urged the central government to take action against the BBC.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra supported this proposal.
Speaker Gautam asked for the opinion of the House on this proposal brought by Jain, after which it was passed by voice vote.
