What is a wetland
Wetlands are important ecosystems that provide a wide range of benefits to both humans and the environment. They are important breeding and feeding grounds for a wide variety of plant and animal species, and they also act as natural water filters, purifying water by removing pollutants and sediment.
These wetlands also provide important water storage and flood control systems, absorbing and storing excess water during heavy rainfall and releasing it slowly downstream, reducing the potential for flooding.
Wetlands are abode of migratory birds
According to environmental experts, wetlands are home to a wide range of bird species. Some of these wetlands are home to many migratory birds that travel long distances before arriving and living here. Wetland is an invaluable natural resource for the protection of which everyone should work together.
