Bathinda Firing: Another Jawan Dies Of Gun Shot Wound In Unrelated Incident


Bathinda (Punjab): Another soldier died after being shot inside the Bathinda military station in Punjab on Thursday morning. The incident took place on Wednesday night near the unit's office. According to sources, it has no relation with the firing incident of the previous day in which 4 soldiers had died..

 

On investigation, it was found that Gur Tejas Lahuraj, posted on sentry duty, had suffered a bullet injury in his head. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but couldn't be saved. Military police are probing whether the soldier committed suicide, was shot by someone or was an accident.

 

No trace of suspected assailants


Meanwhile, there is still no trace of the two suspected assailants who shot dead four army personnel at Bathinda Military Station a day earlier. Police are scanning CCTV cameras to trace them. According to officials, the gunmen were not in military uniform. They were wearing plain clothes. These soldiers of 80 Medium Regiment were posted on guard duty in the officers' mess. 

 

Red alert continues


Red alert continues in the military area even after 24 hours of the incident. Military area schools have been closed even today. The meeting of high officials of military and police also continued till late night.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem of the four jawans was done at the Civil Hospital late in the night. Today the dead bodies of the jawans will be sent to their villages.
