What will be outcome of infighting in Chhattisgarh Congress?

Raipur: Despite the continuous efforts of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the top Congress leadership is in no hurry to remove State Congress President Mohan Markam. Speculations are rife that he could be removed anytime. There is definitely concern in the high command about his organisational indifference.

AICC senior leaders are very hopeful about Chhattisgarh. Everyone believes that the Congress party can come to power again in Chhattisgarh, but the State Congress Committee does not seem to be making vigorous efforts in that direction. There is neither any programme, nor any plan to publicize the works of the Bhupesh government in the state. Why is it like this?

Markam likely to be questioned

Mohan Markam may have to answer some questions in the possible meeting of Chhattisgarh after Rahul Gandhi returns from foreign trip. Obviously, after receiving the answers in detail, the top leadership will discuss with the PCC leadership. Rahul Gandhi will return from America trip on 11th.

The next day, on Monday, June 12, he will be in the capital of Bihar to attend a joint meeting of opposition parties in Patna along with other selected leaders like party president Mallikarjun Kharge, general secretary organization KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh.

After the Patna meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge will hold a meeting with senior Congress leaders from Chhattisgarh. The date has not yet been decided. Rahul Gandhi will also be present in the meeting. State in-charge Kumari Selja will also be accompanying him.

There will be attempt to find a middle path

A large section of the party leadership is not in favor of a major surgery in the PCC just ahead of the Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Such leaders believe that elections are to be announced in two to three months, so it is absurd to think that any new change will bring significant changes in the party.

A senior leader associated with such leadership said, "It will be our endeavor to find a middle path by listening carefully to both the sides for better coordination between the Chief Minister and the PCC."

The same way was found in Karnataka. The same way was taken for Rajasthan. Something similar will be fixed for Chhattisgarh. PCC will be given the mantra of how to prepare for elections.

Instead of angering anyone at the time of assembly elections in the state, the emphasis in the meeting will be only on how the Congress party can win the election by better co-ordination and retain power in Chhattisgarh.
