ODI World Cup 2023: Suspicion On Pakistan's Participation Continues; What Pakistan Sports Minister Said?

Suspicion continues on Pakistan's participation in the One Day Cricket World Cup 2023 (ODI World Cup 2023) starting from October 5 in India. Pakistan's Sports Minister Ehsan Mazari said- I want India to give up the demand of playing Asia Cup match at neutral venue, otherwise we too will not go to India to play in World Cup.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule for the World Cup on 27 June. The high voltage match between India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad on 15 October. Apart from this, Pakistan has to play 8 matches of its league in four cities Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.

Mazari said Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a 14-member committee under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. There are a total of 11 ministers along with me in it.

Prime Minister will take final decision

Mazari said we will discuss the issue whether Pakistan should play cricket in India or not. We will send our recommendation to the Prime Minister. Based on that, the Prime Minister will take the final decision on sending the Pakistan cricket team to the World Cup.

Mazari said PCB comes in my department. In my opinion, India should also give up the demand of playing Asia Cup matches at neutral venues, otherwise we will also demand Pakistan's World Cup matches to be played at neutral venues instead of India.

Apart from Sports Minister Ehsan Mazari, the committee constituted by Pak PM includes several ministers and heads of security agencies of Pakistan. Representatives of other parties involved in the Government of Pakistan will also be present in the committee.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been made the chairman of this committee. According to reports, Bhutto may also be the country's next prime ministerial candidate.

So far no information has been received on when the committee will come to India to conduct the investigation. But only after the investigation of the committee, it will be decided whether the Pakistan team will come to India to play the World Cup or not.

Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka and Pakistan

The Asian Cricket Council has decided to hold the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and Pakistan before the World Cup. Under this, there will be only 4 matches of the tournament in Pakistan. The remaining 9 matches will be held in Sri Lanka.

Four matches of the group stage will be held in Pakistan. These include Pakistan Vs Nepal matches from one group and Afghanistan Vs Bangladesh, Afghanistan Vs Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Vs Sri Lanka matches from the other group.

That means India will not have a single match in Pakistan. If Team India reaches the final, then this match will also be played in Sri Lanka.

The full schedule of this tournament, to be held from August 31 to September 17, has not been released yet.
