No Need To Panic if Online Payment Goes To Wrong Person; These Are New RBI Guidelines To Get Your Money Back



New Delhi: For the last few years digital transactions have seen a boom in our country. At the same time, in the last 4 years, people in the country are doing transactions through UPI. But some lapses are also coming to the fore during these transactions. In fact, sometimes in a hurry, the UPI payment is made on the wrong number, due to which the money reaches someone else's bank account. In view of this, RBI has now issued its new guideline.


Now even if the UPI payment number is wrong and the money has been deducted from your account, you can still get that money back. With this new guideline of RBI, you can get your amount back. For this, after registering a complaint on the helpline number, you have to go to the bank and fill the form. You have to make this complaint within three days of payment.


In case of wrong payment from Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm and UPI, this is how you can solve your problems


Call customer care first


Then enter the complaint by mentioning the transaction details.


Give this information to your bank also.


According to the guidelines of RBI, in case of wrong payment, the money can be returned within 48 hours of making complaint.


For this complaint has to be made to customer care within 3 days.


Incorrect payment through net banking


First register a complaint by calling 1800-120-1740.


Go to the bank and fill the form by giving the required information.


If the bank refuses to help, complain about it on the RBI website bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in.


Do not delete the transaction message from the phone because it contains PPBL number which is necessary at the time of complaint.


You can also complain about wrong payment on the website of National Payment Corporation.
