Rajasthan Election 2023: This Is How Congress National Leadership Will Ensure Only Winnable Candidates Get Ticket

Jaipur: Congress does not want to take any risk on any weak candidate in Rajasthan and therefore the party’s national leadership does not want to leave the initial phase of the ticket selection process in the poll bound state solely to the State Election Committee and the Screening Committee.

Party’s national leadership will have full involvement from the formation of the panel till the name is finalized. AICC's entire focus is to ensure that not even a single weak or a favourite candidate of a big leader is allowed to enter the fray.

Despite being in power, due to the factionalism that continued in Rajasthan for four and a half years, there were speculations that an attempt would be made to pacify all the factions in the ticket distribution. AICC has made it clear to the senior leaders involved in candidate selection that only those people will get tickets who fulfill the guarantee of victory.

This is the reason that despite the formation of State Election Committee and State Screening Committee in Rajasthan, senior leaders Madhusudan Mistry and Shashikant Senthil have been assigned big roles by the high command for the search of candidates and parallel screening. Mistry and Senthil are working as Delhi's third eye in Rajasthan.

2-day meeting of Observers

Congress observers are continuously exercising regarding the first list of Congress in the assembly elections. It is believed that Congress observers will submit their report to senior observer Madhusudan Mistry in the meeting to be held in Jaipur on September 30 and October 1. After this report, Congress's strategy will be clear on the table. Feedback from different seats will be taken. On the basis of this the High Command will decide about giving ticket to candidates.

After this meeting, Madhusudan Mistry will present his complete report in the Central Election Committee (CEC).  Mistry is also included in the CEC and so report will carry weight.

Mistry has recently visited many areas including Pali, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Bikaner, Udaipur. Mistry will report directly to national president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Only after this the candidates of Rajasthan will be declared by the Central Election Committee.

Congress has streamlined ticket selection process

This is the first time that Congress has streamlined the ticket selection process in such a way that leaders with less support base could not get tickets on the recommendations of senior leaders of the state. The national leadership does not want to repeat the mistakes of the last time. Last time in Rajasthan, Congress candidates had lost due to rebellion on many seats due to the fight between Pilot and Gehlot supporters. Later, among the 13 independents who supported the Gehlot government, most of them were rebel Congress MLAs.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi's new statement is in the news, in which he said that Congress is winning in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh while there is a keen contest in Rajasthan. Rahul's statement is being interpreted to mean that if the selection of tickets is correct and Congress contests the elections strongly, then a close contest in Rajasthan can be converted into victory.
