Shubhangi Atre Aka Angoori Bhabi Of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai Walks Down Memory Lane, Tells How She Used To Celebrate Janmashtami In Her Hometown

Shubhangi Atre, who essays the character of Angoori Bhabi in the superhit television show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, walked down the memory lane as she reminisced how she celebrated the festival of Janmashtami in her hometown.

Janmashtami is joyously commemorated to honour the birth of Lord Krishna. This festival is embraced by people worldwide, each observing it uniquely. Shubhangi provided glimpses into the festivities unfolding in her hometown.

Talking about how she celebrated the festival in Madhya Pradesh, the beautiful actress said all the temples in the state used to be splendidly decorated during this period, and the matki-phod competitions used to enthrall us.

Shubhangi told her father used to accompany her to the famous Laxminarayan Temple, also known as the Birla Temple or Krishna Parnami Temple, where the festivities unfolded on a grand scale to seek Krishna's blessings.

The actress said, "Back at home, we would paint baby footprints on the floor, symbolising the strides of Baal Krishna.”

Shubhangi and her family members used to stay awake until midnight for the aarti, savouring homemade delicacies such as makhan mishri, lauki ki barfi, makhana kheer, and more, lovingly prepared by her mother and Dadi (grandmother).

“The entire preparation for the festival exuded an aura of pure delight, saturating the surroundings with positivity. I yearn to relive these experiences once more. May Lord Krishna bestow joy and serenity upon this Janmashtami upon everyone’s lives,” Shubhangi added.
