US President Joe Biden's Wife Tests Positive For Corona Ahead Of G-20 Summit

Washington: Jill Biden, wife of US President Joe Biden, has been found corona infected two days before leaving for India to participate in the summit of G-20 countries.

However, President Biden's Covid-19 test has come negative.

At the same time, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has told that President Biden also got his investigation done after the First Lady was found to be infected with Covid-19. However, his report has come negative.

According to this statement, the President will undergo regular tests this week and monitor the symptoms.

Elizabeth Alexander, Communications Director of America's First Lady, has issued a statement. It said that Jill Biden currently has mild symptoms of Covid-19. She will remain at her Delaware home.

Covid-19 remains a potent virus in America

Jill Biden’s diagnosis is a reminder that Covid-19 remains a potent virus in America.

In recent weeks, public health authorities have noted an increase in the number of Covid infections around the country, though the total number remains low and experts do not believe the United States will experience a dangerous wave of illness like those during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

Still, scientists have identified new variants of concern, called EG.5 and BA.2.86. EG.5 has become the dominant variant of Covid in the United States. BA.2.86 — while responsible for fewer infections — shows more than the usual amount of mutations from the original coronavirus, a fact that concerns scientists because it could mean it is better at evading vaccines.
