Jaipur: There has been a change in the date of Rajasthan elections. Now voting will be held on 25th November, earlier it was to be held on 23rd November. While changing the election dates, the Election Commission said that due to 'large scale' marriages, the voting date in Rajasthan was changed from November 23 to November 25.
The EC said it received representations from various political parties and social organisations regarding the change of poll dates in view of large-scale wedding/social engagement on that day (November 23) which may cause inconvenience to a large number of people, various logistic issues and may lead to reduced voters participation during poll.
