IIT aspirant studying in Kota ends life at home in UP

Ballia: A 20-year-old student, Roshan Verma, who was preparing for the IIT entrance exams in Kota, Rajasthan, tragically took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his family's home in Devki Chhapra village in Ballia district.

The incident occurred during the night while he was sleeping with his family members on the verandah, and he moved to his room at some point before taking this drastic step.

Roshan had returned home for a holiday after completing his Class 12 exams. His family discovered the heartbreaking news the following morning.

According to his family, Roshan had been suffering from severe headaches for several days and was receiving treatment for them. It is suspected that his ongoing health issues may have been a contributing factor to his decision to end his life, as stated by SHO Dharam Veer Singh.

The authorities have taken his body for a post-mortem examination as they continue to investigate this tragic incident.

Student suicide is now a part of the dark reality of Kota, Rajasthan, a place idealized by parents and teachers to be the hub of the best coaching institutes and entrance examination preparations. Although Roshan Verma did not end life in Kota itself but in his native village, the fact is still that he was studying in Kota and preparing for the IIT Entrance.
