AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said this about Uttarakhand tunnel mishap

The evacuation efforts in Uttarakhand, aimed at rescuing workers trapped in a tunnel, have faced delays due to technical issues. Saurabh Bhardwaj, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and a minister in the Kejriwal government, has accused the authorities of wrongdoing in the construction of the tunnel.

Bhardwaj raised doubts about whether proper procedures were followed, stating, "Earlier I  had expressed concerns about non-adherence to prescribed protocols. The recent news reports I've come across in newspapers only confirm those fears."

The AAP leader alleged that a large road construction initiative was divided into 53 smaller parts to sidestep the need for environmental clearance.

According to Bhardwaj, constructing extensive roads and tunnels in environmentally sensitive areas like the Himalayas poses a significant threat to the ecosystem. He claimed that such actions by both the central and state governments could lead to major landslides and natural disasters, resulting in substantial problems and potential loss of lives in the future.

Accusing both the Central and Uttarakhand governments, Bhardwaj asserted, "By disregarding the advice of geologists, environmentalists, and even the Supreme Court, the BJP governent have essentially set up a time bomb in Uttarakhand, which can the detonate at any time."
