Ayodhya Ram Mandir: The festival of consecration of Ram Lalla has started before the Diwali festival in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram. While the first phase of Ram temple construction work is being finalized, Akshat Puja is also being conducted for consecration programs.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has informed that its workers and officials will distribute Akshat in five lakh temples across the country. According to VHP, 100 volunteers and officials from 45 provinces (regions) across the country have reached Ayodhya to collect sacred rice. They also participated in the program organized on Sunday afternoon.
Akshat rice offered to Ramlalla will be handed over to volunteers
Akshat Puja was organized in the court of Ramlala with the worship of about 100 quintals of whole rice along with turmeric and desi ghee. A large number of people were present on this occasion. A priest said that the Akshat rice offered to Ramlala at Ram Janmabhoomi will be handed over to VHP volunteers.
Poojat Akshat will be delivered to people
Each volunteer will carry 5.25 kg of sacred Akshat with him in a metal pitcher. Trust General Secretary Champat Rai told that according to Sanatan Dharma and ritual of Awadh, offering Akshat (whole rice, colored in turmeric, kumkum) to invite someone to participate in any auspicious work is the tradition. That is why these will be delivered to the guests and the general public to participate in the consecration programme of Ram Lala in January 2024. Champat Rai told that after the Vedic rituals, Akshat will be distributed from January 1st.
