ODI World Cup-2023: 12-year-old tweet of Team India captain Rohit Sharma is going viral - here's why

Amidst the Indian cricket team's stellar performance in the ICC ODI World Cup-2023, Rohit Sharma has emerged as a sensation, captivating the admiration of millions.

In the recent match against New Zealand, Rohit showcased exceptional skills, scoring an impressive 47 runs with a carefree flair. His aggressive style of accumulating runs early in the innings has garnered praise not only within the country but also internationally.

Simultaneously, an old tweet from the Indian captain dating back to 2011 is making rounds on social media.

This tweet, posted in 2011 when the Indian team for the 2011 World Cup was announced, reflects Rohit's disappointment at not being included in the squad.

On January 31, 2011, Rohit expressed on Twitter, "Really really disappointed of not being the part of the WC squad. I need to move on from here..but honestly, it was a big setback..any views!''

Over the past 12 years, Rohit Sharma's outstanding performances across all three cricket formats have validated his earlier statement, proving that he indeed moved forward from that setback.

Interestingly, the current head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, also faced exclusion from the 2011 World Cup squad.

If the Indian team emerges victorious in the 2023 World Cup, both Captain Rohit Sharma and Head Coach Rahul Dravid will have the opportunity to overcome the regret of not being part of the World Cup-winning team in 2011.
