Madhya Pradesh: Darshan arrangements in Mahakaleshwar Ujjain will be on lines of Tirupati Balaji; Parikrama Yatra on Purnima will be similar to Panchkroshi

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav asked the district administration to formulate a comprehensive traffic management plan for Ujjain city, with a special focus on the upcoming Simhastha-2028 event. The directive aimed to ensure that devotees could reach the Mahakal Temple expeditiously, minimizing unnecessary walking distances of two to three kilometers.

Dr Yadav also proposed organizing a Parikrama Yatra on Purnima, similar to the Panchkroshi .

Team to visit Tirupati Balaji temple

Dr. Yadav urged the administration to guarantee swift darshan for devotees at the Mahakal Temple, akin to the efficient arrangements at the Tirupati Balaji temple. To achieve this, a team was instructed to visit the Tirupati Balaji temple, assess its operations, and develop an action plan based on their observations.

Religious sites to be developed

The Chief Minister declared the intention to develop locations touched by Lord Krishna's footsteps as religious sites, with Narayanadham earmarked as a Teerth Dham (pilgrimage site). He proposed organizing a Parikrama Yatra on Purnima, similar to the Panchkroshi, which would be widely promoted.

Additionally, efforts were outlined to facilitate pilgrims' visits to Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Harsiddhi Temple, Kalbhairav Temple, Mangalnath Temple, Sandipani Ashram.  Infrastructure works are planned for a permanent stop on Panchkroshi road.

Archaeologically significant properties in the dist will be renovated

Dr. Yadav prioritized the renovation of archaeologically significant properties in the district, including the Kothi Palace, Grand Hotel, and Maharajwada in Ujjain. He stressed the need for an enhanced action plan for city road development, involving the participation of all relevant departments.

The Chief Minister issued directives for the allocation of designated spaces for meat and fish vendors, emphasizing the continuation of the campaign against those operating in open areas. He instructed the enforcement of measures against loudspeakers exceeding prescribed decibel levels, assuring the public of an upcoming app by the Home Department for lodging complaints on this matter.

Dr. Yadav underlined the necessity for micro-planning by the district administration to ensure that devotees visiting Mahakal could have darshan of Baba Mahakal within five minutes.
