Lok Sabha Elections 2024: What political collaboration are Mamata Banerjee and Kejriwal planning?

The unity within the INDIA Alliance, which was formed with the goal of defeating the NDA in the Lok Sabha elections-2024, is slowly breaking. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and his party, JDU, have joined the NDA.

Simultaneously, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is reportedly displeased with the INDIA Alliance. The increasing frequency of meetings between TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and Aam Aadmi Party convener Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal suggest a shift in the political landscape.

Both Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal had previously participated in INDIA Alliance meetings, but now they and their respective parties have not only distanced themselves from the Congress but also from the INDIA Alliance.

Mamata to visit Punjab on Feb 21

Additionally, Mamata Banerjee's upcoming visit to Punjab on February 21 has garnered attention. This visit comes at a critical time, just days before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections schedule. Speculation is rife that Mamata Banerjee is contemplating a significant move regarding an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party.

Mamata Banerjee's visit to Punjab holds significance against the backdrop of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections-2024 and the farmers' movement in Punjab and Haryana. Mamata Banerjee had recently expressed support for the farmers' demands and strongly criticized the NDA government for the mistreatment of farmers at the Shumbh border, including the use of tear gas shells against them.

If the farmer movement continues until February 21, there is speculation that Mamata Banerjee might also visit the protesting farmers on that day, potentially injecting a new dynamic into Punjab politics.
