Madhya Pradesh: Kamal Nath can take this big step before Rahul Gandhi's Nyaya Sabha!

In the run up to Lok Sabha Elections-2024, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, has already responded to speculations about his potential inclusion in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, the speculation about him or his son Nakul Nath joining the BJP remains fervent even after his denial.

Senior Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Kamal Nath on Saturday brushed aside a query on his joining the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party but added that political leaders are free and not bound to be associated with any outfit.

There is ongoing speculation that Kamal Nath might take a significant step before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by aligning himself with the lotus symbol of the BJP.

Kamal Nath Restricts Himself to Chhindwara

The apparent reason for this speculation is Kamal Nath's dissatisfaction after being removed from the position of State Congress President by the party's high command. He has distanced himself from the state's political affairs and abstained from attending the assembly session. Notably, when the Congress was maintaining distance from the Ram temple program in Ayodhya, Kamal Nath participated in a program related to Lord Ram in Chhindwara. The 77-year-old leader seems to have limited himself to Chhindwara, distancing from state Congress politics.

Softening Tone of BJP Leaders

In recent days, there has been a perceptible softening in the tone of BJP leaders towards Kamal Nath. BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh, who were vocal against Kamal Nath, are now maintaining silence. All eyes are now on Kamal Nath's potential moves in Madhya Pradesh politics before the Lok Sabha elections. It is speculated that he might take a significant step before Rahul Gandhi's Adivasi Nyay Sabha in Ratlam Jhabua.

Didn't Attend Screening Committee Meeting

In a recent meeting of the screening committee for the Lok Sabha elections called by Madhya Pradesh Congress in Bhopal, Kamal Nath was notably absent. Despite being in Madhya Pradesh, he chose to tour Chhindwara for four days instead of attending the meeting. The absence of senior party leaders from such a crucial Congress meeting indicates internal conflicts within the party.

Discontentment and Infighting

Political experts suggest that Kamal Nath has been expressing dissatisfaction with Congress in recent days. Relations between Kamal Nath and Jitu Patwari seem strained since the latter took command of Madhya Pradesh Congress. Kamal Nath is consistently missing from important party meetings. After the Congress's defeat in the assembly elections, Kamal Nath stayed away from the capital and took the oath alone, not with the party MLAs in the Assembly.
