Bhopal: In a bid to boost adventure tourism in the region, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is set to launch the Sky Diving Festival from February 8. The festival kicks off in Ujjain on February 8 and later in Khajuraho on February 20, promising exhilarating thrills and entertainment.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture and Managing Director of the Tourism Board, revealed that due to the success of the previous editions and the enthusiasm of tourists towards adventure activities, the third edition will be hosted in Ujjain and the inaugural edition in Khajuraho this year.
Adventure enthusiasts can experience the excitement of flying at Datana Airstrip in Ujjain from February 8 to 17 and in Khajuraho from February 20 to 25, with sky diving scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm. Bookings can be made at www.skyhighindia.com.
Shukla also announced the 50th Khajuraho Dance Festival is set to take place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site from February 20 to 26. In celebration of the festival's golden jubilee, the Sky Diving Festival, one of the world's most thrilling sports, is being organized. Throughout this period, adventure enthusiasts from across the country can enjoy a unique perspective of Khajuraho's archaeological excellence from a height of 10 thousand feet.
The Khajuraho Dance Festival, initiated in 1975, has been consistently organized by the Ustad Alauddin Khan Academy of Music and Arts under the Department of Culture. This year, being the golden jubilee, special preparations are underway, including the addition of a sky diving festival, drawing adventure lovers from all corners of the country.
The Sky Diving operations are managed by "Sky-High India," an organization certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the United States Parachute Association (USPA). The aircraft used in sky diving is registered with the Directorate of Civil Aviation.
The organization ensures a safe and modern sky diving experience conducted by trained professionals adhering to the highest safety standards.
