Holi of flowers celebrated in Mahakal; First Holi of Ramlala in Ayodhya

On the eve of Holi celebrations in 2024, people observed Holika Dahan on Sunday, March 24. This festival, also called Choti Holi, symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and holds great significance in Indian culture.


The festival of Holi will be celebrated on Monday. Holi started across the country on Sunday from the courtyard of Jyotirlinga Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain. Holi of flowers was played with Mahakal in Bhasma Aarti on Saturday morning.


Lord Mahakal was decorated as a king with hemp, dry fruits, sandalwood, jewelery and flowers. Priests also showered flowers on the devotees present in the sanctum sanctorum. After the evening aarti, Holika Dahan was performed. Then Gulal and Abeer were offered to the Lord in the temple.


First Holi of Ramlala 


This is the first Holi of Ramlala after his consecration in Ayodhya. On Sunday, devotees who came from different states celebrated Holi with Ramlala. A picture of Ramlala also surfaced, in which he was seen wearing a pink dress.


Special preparations have been made for the first Holi of Ramlala. Special gulal has been made from Kachnar flowers for the Lord. It has been prepared by the National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR-NBRI). This is skin friendly gulal.


Several devotees visited the Ram Temple to offer prayers celebrating the first Holi after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.




Chief priest of Ram temple, Acharya Satyendra Das said that along with Gulal, Kachori, Gujiya, Puri, Kheer and other dishes will also be offered to Ram Lalla. Later it will be distributed among the devotees who reach the temple.
