Rewa Borewell Rescue: Child who fell into borewell in Rewa could not be found even after 30 hours, rescue operation continues


Rewa Borewell Rescue: Efforts are on to save the child who fell into the borewell on Friday in Manika village of Janeh police station area of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. Earlier reports said that the rescue operation was in its final stages and child Mayank Adivasi can come out any time. But even 30 hours after the child fell into the borewell the rescue team has not been able to reach to the child. The health department team has reached near the tunnel with a stretcher.


The water level increased during digging, efforts are being made to remove the water by installing pumps.


Collector Pratibha Pal said that efforts are going on to save the child. The depth of the borewell is 70 feet. According to information collected through cameras and LEDs, the child is likely to be trapped at a depth of 45 to 50 feet. A tunnel has been built near the borewell, so that the child can reach it easily.

Late night, NDRF team from Banaras also reached to save the child and started the rescue operation. Pits of about 40 feet have been made on both sides in the borewell, through which efforts are being made to take out the child.


It is noteworthy that on Friday, a 6-year-old boy had fallen into an open borehole while playing. The administration also reached the spot and the rescue operation was started by the rescue team. Even after digging 37 feet till late night, the rescue operation team could not reach the child. The rescue operation continued throughout the night, but no trace of the child could be found.

CM Mohan Yadav said the news of an innocent child falling into a borewell in Manika village of Rewa district is sad.


He said the team of SDRF and district administration is trying to get the child out safely. I am also in constant touch with the local administration. Instructions have been given to Deputy Chief Minister Shri @rshuklabjp to reach the spot.


Meanwhile, the child's mother and grandmother have demanded that the farm owner be hanged. They allege that the incident happened because the bore was left open and the farm owner has absconded after the incident.
