Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has held a joint press conference with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. Arvind Kejriwal faced queries regarding the BJP's allegations that his associate had assaulted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal. During a joint press briefing with INDIA ally Akhilesh Yadav, the AAP leader chose to remain silent, prompting his colleague Sanjay Singh to step in and counter the accusations.
Sanjay Singh, an AAP MP, raised questions about the treatment of tribal women in Manipur and the sexual assault allegations against BJP ally Prajwal Revanna.
Singh further said, "When our daughters, who are wrestlers, were fighting for justice at Jantar Mantar, Swati Maliwal, the former Chairperson of the Women's Commission, supported them and was subjected to police brutality."
Singh cited instances of what he termed as the ruling party's indifference towards crimes against women.
He emphasized, "The Aam Aadmi Party functions as a cohesive unit. Our position on this matter is clear, and I urge the Prime Minister and the BJP to address all the concerns I've raised. Let's not politicize this issue."
The BJP has accused Kejriwal of protecting his personal assistant Bibhav Kumar, allegedly involved in the altercation with Swati Maliwal on Monday. The incident purportedly occurred at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence.
Swati Maliwal, former chief of the Delhi Commission for Women, has yet to comment on the incident, which has become a focal point of political contention amidst the national elections.
In response to escalating attacks from the BJP, Sanjay Singh stated on Tuesday that the Chief Minister had taken cognizance of the incident and would take appropriate action.
However, the BJP initiated protests in Delhi, demanding an FIR against Kejriwal's aide and advocating for "justice for Swati Maliwal."
Additionally, BJP leaders alleged that Kejriwal and other AAP members were spotted at the Lucknow airport with the individual accused of assaulting the MP, while Swati Maliwal was purportedly unreachable.
What did Akhilesh Yadav say
Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP has been defeated in all fourfour phases.
Akhilesh Yadav said, "BJP is giving the slogan of crossing 400, but it is not winning more than 143 seats. The people of the country will make them yearn for 140 seats."
Akhilesh Yadav said that "If the Constitution survives, the country will survive." Everyone has understood the BJP's conspiracy to destroy the Constitution.
Akhilesh Yadav claimed that India alliance is going to defeat BJP.
