Bihar: 14 people including 10 on election duty die due to extreme heat and heat wave


As many as 14 people have died due to extreme heat and heat wave in Bihar. Out of these, 10 were those who were on election duty.


The Disaster Management Department of the Bihar government has issued a statement saying that out of the 14 people who have died, 5 were on election duty in Bhojpur district. 3 were on election duty in Rohtas, 1 person was on election duty in Kaimur and 1 was posted in Aurangabad.


Apart from this, four other people who have died were residents of Aurangabad.


The process of providing compensation to the families of the deceased is going on.


There is extreme heat and heat wave in North and Central India.


Earlier, a video of a school in Bihar had surfaced in which children were fainting due to heat. Many children had to be admitted to the hospital.


After this, schools in Bihar were ordered to be closed till June 8.


Security personnel deployed at polling booth in Sasaram fall ill


Security personnel deployed at polling booth in Sasaram, Bihar fell ill due to heat wave. They had to be taken to hospital. 


Dr Ajit Kumar of Sadar Hospital, Sasaram, while talking to the media said, "Due to heat wave and very high temperature, six or seven security personnel have suffered heat stroke. Out of these, the condition of one or two personnel is critical."


There is extreme heat and heat wave in North and Central India, which has affected the health of the people and some people have also died.
