Big Blow to Congress in Delhi: What Party Observers Said While Resigning From Post?

Delhi Lok Sabha Election 2024: In a big blow to the Congress party, two of its leaders serving as observers for two Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, Neeraj Basoya and Naseeb Singh, have tendered their resignations. They cited their discontent with the Congress-AAP alliance as the primary reason for their departure.

Neeraj Basoya, former MLA and observer for the West Delhi Parliamentary Seat, expressed his dissatisfaction with the party's alliance with AAP in Delhi. In a letter addressed to party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Basoya said the alliance with AAP had hurt the reputation of Delhi Congress workers. Consequently, he felt compelled to disassociate himself from the party.

Similarly, Naseeb Singh, former MLA and observer for North West Delhi, voiced his concerns about the appointment of Davinder Yadav as the Delhi Congress chief. Singh said Yadav's previous campaign strategies in Punjab had focused on opposing Arvind Kejriwal's agenda. Singh said it was contradictory that Yadav would now be expected to support AAP and its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, in Delhi.

These resignations closely follow veteran Congress leader Arvind Singh Lovely's resignation as Delhi unit chief, citing irreconcilable differences with the Central leadership.

These developments occur as Delhi gears up for the Lok Sabha polls scheduled on May 25th.
