Congress candidate from North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat Kanhaiya Kumar met Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently.
Out of total seven seats in Delhi, Congress is contesting on three seats and AAP is contesting on four seats.
'It is like catching anyone and putting them in jail without any reason'
Talking to the media after the meeting, Kanhaiya Kumar said, "Though in the language of politics it is called a courtesy meeting, but I personally think that it was a very friendly meeting. We talked about the situation in the country. The way dictatorship is continuing. It is like catching anyone and putting them in jail without any reason."
He said, "We have been fighting against this dictatorship for the last many years and we are united in this fight against dictatorship. We will all fight this battle unitedly and the Constitution and democracy will be saved."
Kanhaiya said, "We are contesting elections on 543 seats. All the constituent parties of India Alliance are united. We are contesting elections on all the seven seats of Delhi. Whatever strategy they are making is not for any one party or any one candidate. We are making it for Delhi, for the people of Delhi.
'You are lucky that you are able to vote'
He said further, "This is a question of self-respect for the people of Delhi. There is no question of making any one person MP or Prime Minister. There is no question of forming a one-party government."
He said, "We saw what happened in Surat, Indore and Khajuraho. I am telling the people of Delhi that you are lucky that you are able to vote. Your candidates are contesting. You vote. You have to vote. There should be a discussion on whether this right will remain or not, whether the face of the entire country will become like Surat and Indore."
