PM Modi's Varanasi Nomination to Precede Grand Roadshow, Ignite Political Fervour


Uttar Pradesh Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to file his nomination for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat on May 14. Prior to this significant event, on May 13, PM Modi will embark on a grand roadshow in Varanasi, setting the stage for heightened political fervor in the region. Notably, the final phase of voting in Varanasi is slated for June 1, encompassing Prime Minister Modi's electoral constituency.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Varanasi on May 13 to initiate the nomination process, culminating in the filing ceremony on May 14. Preceding this, a massive roadshow led by PM Modi will take center stage in Varanasi on May 13.


Reflecting on past elections, in 2014, PM Modi secured victory in the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat with 5,81,222 votes, with Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party, trailing in second place with 2,92,238 votes. In the subsequent 2019 elections, PM Modi maintained his stronghold, amassing 6,74,664 votes, while Congress candidate Ajay Rai trailed significantly with only 1,52,548 votes.

In the upcoming contest, Congress, supported by the Samajwadi Party (SP), has once again put forward Ajay Rai as their coalition candidate against PM Modi. All eyes are on this electoral showdown, eager to witness the challenge Rai can pose to PM Modi.


Apart from Rai, stand-up comedian Shyam Rangeela has also announced his electoral debut from Varanasi against PM Modi. Hailing from Rajasthan, Shyam Rangeela is renowned for his uncanny mimicking of PM Modi.


Rangeela announced his candidature from Varanasi for the Lok Sabha 2024 on social media on Wednesday, May 1.
