Chhattisgarh: Centre Approves 52 Schools for PM Shri Yojana in Third Phase; These Facilities will be Available to Children


In the third phase, 52 schools of Chhattisgarh have been approved by the Government of India under the PM Shri Yojana. Facilities like smart classrooms, state-of-the-art labs for science and mathematics, sports facilities and digital library will be developed in the schools covered under PM Shri Yojana.


Earlier, in the first phase, 211 schools in the state have got approval for PM Shri Yojana. In this way, a total of 263 schools in the state have been approved to be developed as model schools under PM Shri Yojana. In the first phase, the process of upgrading the schools approved under PM Shri Yojana has started.


PM Shri Yojana was launched in Chhattisgarh on 19 February 2024 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On this occasion, he praised the efforts being made by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai regarding the quality of education in the state. Under PM Shri, there is a plan to develop schools as model schools by spending Rs 2 crore per school.


These facilities will be available


In accordance with the National Education Policy 2020, the target is to develop schools as model schools under the PM Shri scheme. Under the PM Shri scheme, academic and infrastructural strengthening of selected schools will be done. 


In these schools, education facilities will be available through Virtual Reality Lab, Atal Tinkering, AI Robotics, Learning in an entertaining way through gaming. Apart from this, students studying in these schools will get the benefit of smart class, ICT lab, digital library, indoor and outdoor sports and games facilities as well as summer camp, adventure sports, career guidance and counseling.
