This claim has been made in a recent research published in the journal IEEE Access. Researchers have found in their study that human emotions can be understood with the help of skin conductance.

When a person experiences an emotion, the effects can be observed on their skin, which this method is capable of detecting.
This technique more effective than traditional methods
Traditional emotion detection techniques use facial recognition and speech analysis. These emphasize audio and visual data. However, scientists believe that skin conductance is a more effective and real-time method for detecting emotions.
Future possibilities of use in robotics systems
During the research, 33 participants were studied. Their emotions were understood by touching their skin with skin conductance technology. Scientists believe that in future this technology will be used with robotics systems. Through this, robots will be able to understand the emotions of humans by just touching and respond accordingly.
