Delhi Assembly Elections-2025: Voting Completed, What Exit Polls Are Predicting?

The voting process for the Delhi Assembly elections-2-25 was completed on Wednesday, with the counting of votes scheduled for Saturday, February 8. As of 5 PM, about 58 percent voter turnout was recorded, though the final voting figures are still pending. In comparison, the assembly elections of 2020 saw a turnout of 62.55 percent, while the 2015 elections recorded about 67 percent.

Various exit polls have begun to emerge with most of the polls indicating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is positioned as the second-largest party. Should these exit poll projections hold true, the BJP could form the government in Delhi for the first time in 26 years.

In the Poll of Polls, BJP is predicted to get 39 seats, AAP 30 and Congress 1 seat.

Summary of exit poll predictions

Matrice Exit Poll: BJP likely to secure 35-40 seats, AAP 32-37 seats, and Congress 0-1 seat.

Chanakya Strategies: BJP may win 39-44 seats, AAP 25-28 seats, and Congress 2-3 seats.

JVC Poll: BJP projected to win 39-45 seats, AAP 22-31 seats, and Congress 0-2 seats.

People's Pulse-Kodema: BJP may win 51-60 seats, AAP 10-19 seats, and Congress with no seats.

P-Mark: BJP expected to secure 39-49 seats, AAP 21-31 seats, and Congress 0-1 seat.

DV Research: BJP may bag 36-44 seats, AAP 26-34 seats.

Interestingly, two agencies, V Preside and Mind Print, have forecasted a majority for AAP in their exit polls. V Preside estimates AAP will secure 46-52 seats, with BJP at 18-23 seats and Congress 0-1 seat. Mind Print predicts AAP will win 44-49 seats, with BJP at 21-25 seats.

It is important to note that exit polls are not always accurate; previous elections in Haryana and Jharkhand demonstrated discrepancies between exit poll predictions and actual results.
