Delhi: Saurabh Bhardwaj Responds to Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena's recommendation to NIA to probe CM Arvind Kejriwa

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has swiftly responded to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's recommendation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Lieutenant Governor has urged the NIA to investigate allegations against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal regarding purported donations from the banned organization Sikh for Justice.

In a statement on the social media platform X, Delhi government minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj criticized the move, stating, "LG Saheb's actions seem to be aimed at garnering attention during the election season. This constitutes a blatant misuse of the LG's constitutional authority."

PIL was dismissed by Delhi HC

Bhardwaj highlighted, "It's worth noting that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a thorough investigation into these claims was dismissed by the High Court two years ago." He emphasized that the court had deemed the petition "entirely frivolous" at the time.

The recommendation for investigation stems from a complaint lodged by Ashu Mongia, associated with the World Hindu Federation.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal finds himself embroiled in allegations of corruption related to Delhi's liquor policy, resulting in his incarceration. Despite this, Kejriwal has not stepped down from his position as Chief Minister and continues to govern from behind bars.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, also faces imprisonment in connection with the same case, while Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has secured bail.
