Woman From Pakistan Granted Citizenship Of India

Protesters are protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act in many states of the country including the National capital of the country.  There have been incidents of arson in many places but in the meantime a woman from Pakistan has been granted citizenship of India.  She is the first woman to be granted citizenship after the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

According to reports, Hasina Ben from Pakistan in Gujarat has been granted citizenship of India.  Hasina Ben applied for citizenship of India two years ago.  After which she has been granted citizenship by the Government of India.  Although Hasina Ben was originally from India.  But after marriage in 1999, she moved to Pakistan.  She returned to India after the death of her husband in Pakistan, now Hasina Ben has been given a citizenship from the Indian government on December 18, 2019.

After the Citizenship Amendment Bill, now the citizens of India, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists who have fled from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh due to religious persecution with the help of law will be given citizenship of India.  People who had entered India by the decisive date of 31 December 2014.  They will all be able to apply for citizenship of India.
