Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh's first hi-tech floriculture nursery and aeroponics lab will be established in Gwalior. The work of the lab will be started in the first week of next month.
This decision was taken in a high-level meeting held in the Mantralaya here regarding establishment of hi-tech floriculture nursery and aeroponics lab included in the joint action plan of Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, State Agricultural Marketing Board and Horticulture and Food Processing Department.
Aeroponics is the practice of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of any substrate. That is, the plant roots are suspended in the air and are misted or sprayed periodically with a nutrient solution or aerosol of nutrient solution.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing Bharat Singh Kushwaha said that on the proposal of Horticulture Department, the construction of Flower Dome in Bhopal will also be started soon.
An action plan has been prepared for this. An amount of Rs 836 lakh is being made available for the Flower Dome from the MIDH program of Mandi Board and Horticulture Department.
