Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023: BJP Made This Special Strategy For 103 Seats, Congress Eyeing '66'

Bhopal: Elections are to be held in November-Decemberm in Madhya Pradesh. In such a situation, BJP has focused on those seats, which have been occupied by the Congress for a long time. At the same time, Congress has also made a special strategy for the seats where it had to face defeat for the last several elections.

There are about 103 such seats in the state on which BJP had to face defeat in the by-elections held in 2018 and thereafter in 2020. This is the reason why BJP has now started working on 'Mission 103'.

Out of these 103 seats, 35 seats are occupied by veteran Congress MLAs. Winning these seats is no less than a challenge for the BJP. The party has named these seats as the Aspirational Assembly Seats. Along with this, a strategy is being prepared to win the seats held by Congress veterans following the formula of Gujarat and UP.

BJP's strategy on seats of Congress veterans

The seats held by Congress veterans include Chhindwara, the bastion of former CM Kamal Nath, Lahar assembly constituency of Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh, Raghogarh seat of Guna district from where Digvijay's son Jaivardhan Singh is the MLA. Similarly in Kasrawad seat of Khargone district, Subhash Yadav's son Sachin Yadav is the MLA. Along with this, the BJP is looking for a big face to give a tough fight to Congress MLA Arif Aqueel in Bhopal's North assembly seat.

In 2003, 2008 and 2013, BJP came to power, but it could not succeed in winning the seats of Congress heavyweights. BJP leaders are making big claims about the strategy being made for these seats. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how much all the preparations of BJP affect the voters. Will the BJP's Gujarat and UP formula work in Madhya Pradesh, or will the Congress once again succeed in regaining power like in 2018. Only the time to come will tell.

Congress's emphasis on 'Mission 66'

Madhya Pradesh Congress has also started working on a new strategy before the elections. State Congress President and former CM Kamal Nath himself is monitoring every campaign. Now Kamal Nath has given a new task to the party. Mission 66 has been started by the party.

In fact, the Congress is also eyeing those seats where the party has been facing defeat in the last several elections. These are the seats where the Congress has not been able to win for the last 25 years. The meetings of the Political Affairs Committee of the Congress are being held continuously. Digvijaya Singh himself has taken the responsibility of these seats on his shoulders. He is visiting here regularly. Local leaders of the party are holding consultations with office bearers and workers.

Congress candidates will be decided first on 66 seats

It is believed that the Congress may first announce candidates for these 66 seats. Actually this is being done so that the candidates get enough time for preparation. In the previous meetings, Kamal Nath had directed the party workers to work under the new guidelines.

He asked the leaders to increase their activities on the lost seats, do public relations, activate the workers at the booth level. These seats are the ones on which the Congress has been losing continuously for the last five times i.e. 25 years.

On these seats the candidates will be declared first. This is being done so that the candidates get enough time for preparation. On behalf of the Congress Election Affairs Committee, it has been decided that the seats where Congress is strong there the party will focus later. Party will first focus on those seats where it is weak.
