CBI will probe 'rigging' in NEET-UG 2024 exam, check latest developments

The Education Ministry has handed over the investigation of the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam to the CBI.

The Center has removed Subodh Kumar Singh from the post of DG of National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET exam, from the post of Director General.

In his place, Pradeep Singh Kharola has been given additional charge of the post of Director General of NTA.

Re-examination of 1563 students today

Amidst demands for cancellation of NEET-UG exam, NTA is conducting a re-examination of 1563 students on Sunday.

Amidst allegations of rigging, NTA had said that in the examination held on May 5, 1563 students were given grace marks as they had less time.

NEET-PG exam was also postponed

Apart from this, the government has also postponed the NEET-PG exam to be held on June 23.

The Health Ministry has said in its information, "The NEET-PG entrance exam to be held tomorrow (Sunday) has been postponed. The new date of this exam will be notified soon.''

Another scam: Association

United Doctors Front Association's National President Dr. Lakshya Mittal alleged that India's medical system is being destroyed.

He said, "Postponing the NEET-PG exam is another scam after NEET-UG. Postponing the exam 10 hours before when the candidates have reached their centers from far away places, is playing with the sentiments of doctors."

UGC-NET exam was also canceled

Earlier, the Ministry of Education had canceled the UGC-NET exam after allegations of paper leak. The exam was held on June 18 and was canceled the very next day.

The Union Education Ministry has constituted a high-level committee with the participation of experts for conducting the examination process by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in a transparent, smooth and fair manner.
