MP Politics: Why Did Faggan Singh Kulaste Reject Offer to Join Modi Cabinet?

The BJP emerged victorious in the recent Lok Sabha elections 2024, leading to the formation of the NDA government with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term. Madhya Pradesh, where BJP secured all 29 Lok Sabha seats, was significantly rewarded for this success, with five representatives from the state included in the new Cabinet. Notably, however, some established names were excluded, sparking political intrigue.

Kulaste's response revealed discontent

Among those excluded was Faggan Singh Kulaste, the former minister and MP from Mandla. When questioned by the media, Kulaste's response revealed unexpected discontent. He stated, "I have been a Cabinet minister three times. But I was being made a minister of state this time, which I declined. I said that if any arrangement can be made in the cabinet, then it is fine; otherwise, let it be."

Kulaste's remarks have intensified political discussions, with speculation that his exclusion from the cabinet has left him displeased, though he has not openly expressed his discontent.

Savitiri Takes Kulaste's Place?

This time around, Kulaste, who hails from the tribal community and was part of the previous Modi cabinet, has been replaced by Dhar MP Savitri Thakur. Thakur's inclusion is seen as a strategic move to fill the gap left by Kulaste. Faggan Singh Kulaste was also given a ticket by the BJP in the assembly elections. But, he lost the election from the Niwas assembly seat. After this questions were being raised on his political future.
