Rajasthan: Will Minister Kirodi Lal Meena Resign? What His Recent Statement Suggests?

The political landscape in Rajasthan is currently abuzz with speculation over Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena's potential resignation. This speculation stems from a promise he made during the election period, where he stated he would step down if the BJP lost any of the seven seats in eastern Rajasthan.

Despite mounting pressure from the Congress party and its leaders demanding his resignation, recent statements from Kirodi Lal Meena suggest he is not planning to resign.

In response to these resignation discussions, Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has reaffirmed his commitment to his role as Agriculture Minister of Rajasthan. He emphasized his determination to advance the state's agricultural sector. Political analysts are dissecting his statement, interpreting it as a clear indication that he intends to remain in his position.

Politics has evolved into an industry: Meena

Kirodi Lal Meena also criticized contemporary politics, stating that it has evolved into an industry rather than a service. He lamented the pervasive corruption, revealing that he frequently encounters scams whenever he reviews files. He mentioned that the removal of long-standing officers in his department led to significant uproar. Additionally, he called for spiritual lessons for all politicians, implying a need for ethical reformation in political practices.

BJP Lost 4 Out of 7 Seats

During the Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Kirori Lal Meena declared that he would resign if the BJP candidate lost the Dausa seat. He later expanded this promise, stating that if the BJP lost any of the seven seats for which Prime Minister Modi had given him responsibility, he would resign from his ministerial post. Ultimately, the BJP lost four of these seven seats: Dausa, Karauli-Dholpur, Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, and Bharatpur.

Pran Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye on Election Day

As the Lok Sabha election results were being announced, and it became apparent that the BJP was losing, Kirodi Lal Meena hinted at his resignation on social media. He posted a verse from the Ramcharitmanas, "Raghukul reet sada chali aayi, pran jaaye par vachan na jaaye," which translates to "The tradition of Raghukul is that they would rather die than break a promise."

This post was seen as a commitment to his promise to resign. However, his recent statements make it clear that he has reconsidered and postponed the idea of resigning.

Through his recent declarations, Minister Kirodi Lal Meena seems focused on his role in advancing Rajasthan's agricultural sector, indicating that his resignation is not imminent despite previous commitments.
