Bhopal: Fancy dress competition organized under Hindi fortnight at BMHRC, Bharatendu Harishchandra, Sumitranandan Pant and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar seen on the stage

Bhopal: 'Progress of one's own language is the root of all progress. Without the knowledge of one's own language, the pain in the heart cannot be removed.' When technician Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, dressed as the famous Hindi poet Shri Bharatendu Harishchandra, entered the auditorium while reciting these lines, the audience was mesmerized. Along with this, employees and students of BMHRC were seen on the stage in the costumes of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Maithilisharan Gupta, Sumitranandan Pant, Jaishankar Prasad, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan and Meerabai etc.

The occasion was the fancy dress competition organized under Hindi fortnight at BMHRC. Famous fashion designer Shri Mumtaz Khan was present as the judge of the competition. A large number of participants took part in the competition.

During the fancy dress competition, Ms. Surabhi Rathore working in the Microbiology Department was seen in the costume of Meera Bai, Ms. Anjali Satpute in costume of Subhadrakumari Chauhan, Mrinal working in the IT Department was seen in the costume of Amrita Pritam. Apart from this, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing student Somlata Bundela came in the costume of Sumitranandan Pant, Kishan Lal in Maithilisharan Gupta, Khushansh Chandra in Premchand and Vikas Yadav was in the costume of Jaishankar Prasad.

Encouraging all the participants, judge Mumtaz Khan said that few people can muster the courage to reach the stage while participating in competitions. Winning while performing on stage is an even more difficult task. Even today, when I go on stage, my body is still trembling. There is so much light on the ramp that nothing is visible. Despite this, one has to look confident. In such a situation, those who are not professional artists and participate in such competitions deserve congratulations. In the fancy dress competition, the participant has to work hard to change his look and costume. Those participants who pay special attention to this stand out from the rest.
