iPhone users get a shock! What impact Trump's tariff warning will have on iPhone price and exports from India?

Image
Bad news for iPhone lovers: US President Donald Trump has clearly stated that if iPhones are not made in the US, Apple will have to pay 25% import duty (tariff). Trump's warning can have a direct impact on countries including India where Apple gets its iPhones made, especially in India under "Make in India". If this tariff is implemented, Apple's cost will increase and that burden will fall directly on the customers—which can lead to an increase in the price of iPhones by Rs 20,000–Rs 25,000. Why can iPhone prices increase? The main reason for the possible increase in the price of iPhones is the 25% tariff proposed by Trump. Trump says that iPhones sold in the US should be made in the US. But Apple currently manufactures in India and China to keep costs low. If heavy taxes are imposed on imports, Apple will have to manufacture in the US, which is expensive. This will have a direct impact on the price of the device. What will be the impact on Apple's supply chain? ...

Image
US President Donald Trump has now indicated to take a tough economic step against India as well. Trump has said that the US can consider imposing a tariff (import duty) of 20 to 25 percent on goods imported from India. Trump's statement has come at a time when the sixth round of talks is going to be held between India and the US regarding the trade deal. If this tariff is implemented, then it can have a direct impact on many major export sectors of India including major industries like clothing, shoes, jewelry, mobile and electronics. Textile and garment industry to be most affected India is the largest exporter of textiles and footwear to America. The demand for Indian clothes and shoes is very high in American retail markets. But if a tariff of 20 to 25 percent is imposed on them, then their prices will increase significantly in America. This will not only lead to a decline in demand, but shipments and trade from India to America may also be affected. Electronics and mobile expor...

In doing so, they help reduce energy consumption in buildings by minimizing heat gain and regulating indoor temperatures. These dual-functional devices can also store electrical energy, offering a two-in-one solution for sustainable infrastructure. Despite their potential in achieving “zero-energy buildings,” electrochromic smart windows have remained commercially limited due to the high cost of conventional materials such as tungsten oxide (WO3) and lithium-based electrolytes.
