Delhi: Red alert of heavy rain; schools shut on Aug 1; building collapses in Sabzi Mandi; flights diverted
Heavy rains lashed Delhi-NCR on Wednesday evening and night. During this, a building collapsed in Sabzi Mandi area. According to media reports, some people are feared to be buried under the building. Apart from this, 10 flights coming to Delhi have been diverted due to heavy rains. At least 10 flights headed to Delhi, including one from Tokyo, were diverted, and vehicles were also stuck on flooded roads in some areas. Air India, Vistara, Indigo and Spice Jet have issued advisories to divert flights and check boarding status. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the next 24 hours.
