Fire In ICU Of Safdarjung Hospital: No Casualty Reported

Latest reports have been coming in from the national capital of the country New Delhi where a fire broke out in the ICU ward of Safdarjung Hospital early morning today.  According to sources around 50 patients were shifted to other wards in the hospital.   However it is reported that no casualty been reported so far.  The hospital authorities and fire tenders have doused the fire. The hospital authorities have started an investigation to the fire.  And all the consequences have been checked as to the reasons behind the fire.

Sharad Pawar Recovering After Successful Surgery Of Gall Bladder

Latest reports have been coming in from Mumbai where late last night Sharad Pawar has been admitted in the hospital due to complaints of gall bladder. The attending doctors on him said that after running some tests we decided to perform the surgery on him (Sharad Pawar) today as there were some complications.  The doctor further added that we will be deciding on the removal of his Gallbladder later. Secondary Schools Reopens In Ladakh

As per reports schools in Ladakh have reopened for Class 6 onwards, yesterday, months after remaining shut due to COVID19 pandemic. It is reported that the school staff have been following all the SOPs.   As the number of new Covid-19 cases in the national capital continues to rise, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Saturday that lockdown is not a solution for dealing with the growing number of Covid-19 cases. "We'll have to learn to live with it," the Health Minister said. He also added that, "There isn't any chance of a lockdown." There had been a lockdown before, and there was a reason for it. No one understood how the virus spread at the time. It was then stated that from the time of infection to the time of recovery, there is a 14-day period. The expert then claimed that if all operations are disabled for 21 days, the virus would cease to spread. But still, the virus spread didn't stop." India's electricity demand projected to increase in fourth quarter

   India's electricity demand is projected to increase year over year in the fourth quarter of this fiscal year, according to India Ratings and Analysis. This is significant because energy consumption, especially electricity and refinery products, is usually linked to overall economic demand. Fitch revised India's economic growth forecast for FY22 to 12.8%, citing a stronger carryover impact, a looser fiscal stance, and strengthened virus containment in its Global Economic Outlook. India's GDP is expected to rise by 12% in 2021, according to Moody's Analytics. A report released on Friday which stated that, “Despite partial lockdowns in some states due to a rise in COVID 19 cases, all-India energy demand is expected to be higher in 4QFY21 on a YoY basis." It also added that, "All-India energy demand increased 0.2% YoY to 104.6 billion units in February 2021 (January 2021: up 5.0%; December 2020: up 4.9%)"

Goa government cancels Shigmo festival due to rise in Covid-19 cases

   The Goa state government has declared that the state's much-anticipated Shigmo festival parade will not take place this year due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.  According to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the decision to cancel the parades was made to prevent the spread of corona virus.  "Artists who participate in the annual Shigmotsov festivities will be compensated by the state government. The decision to cancel the Shigmo parades in the state was made to prevent the Covid-19 from spreading further", Sawant said while answering the issue raised by MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar in the state legislative assembly session. For the past 30 years, the Shigmo festival parade has been showcasing Odisha's folk art. It was held last year despite coronavirus concerns. Sawant also advised people not to celebrate Holi on a wide scale, but rather to keep it to their own communities.

According to sources coming in from Maharashtra a fire breaks out at Fashion Street market in Camp area of Pune. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. However the fire has been controlled. And no casualty has been reported so far but heavy loss to the hawkers and shop owners as their shops were gutted in fire.   The Election Commission of India is working with IIT-Madras to establish Blockchain technology for remote voting, with significant progress anticipated by the 2024 General Elections, according to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora. He told while interacting with IPS probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy that "One Country, One Elections" is desirable, it is difficult to achieve because it necessitates changes to existing laws and political consensus. He also added that, "We're working on a project with IIT-Madras in Chennai, as well as some renowned scientists. We're working on a Blockchain project right now. Bollywood camera assistant was forced to sell momos in lockdown

Since last year's coronavirus lockout, Suchismita Routray, a young camera assistant from Bollywood, has been unemployed. She returned to her hometown of Cuttack in Odisha, where she now selling momos for her living, having run out of options in Mumbai. Suchismita, who is 22 and has worked in the film industry for six years, described how she was left in Mumbai with no one to support her until actors Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan stepped in.  She said, "I couldn't afford to return home because I didn't have enough money. Thankfully, Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan contributed to the return of our entire crew to their respective hometowns." She started selling momos after returning home and the momos recipe she had learned from her Mumbai roommate. Her stall in Cuttack's Jhanjirimangala which pays her $300-400 per day. Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.

  Xiaomi Corp planning to produce electric vehicles (EVs) at Great Wall Motor Co Ltd's plant, making it the latest tech company to join the smart mobility race. After Reuters announced the proposal, the stock price of the tech company jumped as much as 6.71% in early Friday trading. Great Wall's Hong kong stock rose above 8%, while its Shanghai shares gained above 7%. Smartphone manufacturers, is in talks to use one of Great Wall's Chinese factories to produce electric vehicles under its own name. Xiaomi will sell its electric vehicles to the mass market, in line with the company's broader positioning of electronics products. Xiaomi's this step looks to diversify its revenue sources away from the smartphone market, which accounts for the majority of its revenue but has razor-thin profit margins. On Wednesday, it warned of increased costs due to a global chip shortage and posted quarterly revenue that fell short of expectations.

  A fake WhatsApp message has been circulating and claiming to deliver free Amazon gifts on the company's 30th anniversary. “Amazon 30th Anniversary Celebrations – Gifts for everyone from www.amazon.com,” the message says. “Congratulations, you have been selected to participate in our survey. It will only take a minute and you will get an amazing prize, a Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G 8GB+256GB (Bright black),” the message says when users click it. The message also promises to improve the quality of services through the survey which includes four questions that are based on gender, age, Amazon services quality and the smartphone that individual owns. According to cyber experts, this activity can be a scam where cyber-criminals could be looking for your personal details or can use the data to either call and defame you or for identity theft.

Greece sets to open tourism from next month

    April is a crucial month in Greece's tourism preparations because it will serve as the first test before the official start of the season on May 14. The aim is to open the country to visitors from the Balkans, Israel, and the United Kingdom on a trial basis. According to the report, COVID-19's performance in April will be judged on Easter which is the year's first major test. Following the trip to Romania, Tourism Minister Harry Theocharis announced that the first tourists are scheduled to arrive from the Balkans. “I am sure that we will have the privilege of welcoming a significant number of Romanian visitors to Greece before Easter,” he said. The aim of the April 16 opening for a limited number of countries is to gradually create a route to summer and test the new entry protocols.

Himachal Pradesh ranked first in TB elimination campaign

  In the tuberculosis elimination programme, Himachal Pradesh has ranked first in the country among states with a population of more than 50 lakh people. According to the Sustainable Development Goals, tuberculosis should be eradicated by 2030, State health secretary Amitabh Awasthi had said in Shimla on Thursday. “However, the country is committed to eliminating tuberculosis by 2025, and Himachal Pradesh has set a target that is ahead of the national deadline,” he added. The national conference was held in Delhi's Ambedkar Bhawan. This year, the Indian government began subnational certification of states and districts for the elimination of tuberculosis, and five districts in Himachal Pradesh, Una, Hamirpur, Kangra, Lahaul and Spiti, and Kinnaur, applied. Indian Army Gypsy overturned, 3 soldiers died, 5 injured

  On Wednesday night, Indian Army's gypsy overturned in which 3 soldiers died and 5 were injured in Shri Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan. According to local police, the accident took place between two and three o'clock in the night. The army's Gypsy was uncontrolled and overturned, after which it caught fire. Due to this, three army soldiers in Gypsy died due to burns and the injured soldiers have been taken to the Military Hospital. It is being told that the soldiers who died, they fainted after the accident and got trapped in the Gypsy itself, after which Gypsy caught fire and got scorched.
