Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day: Weeklong Programmes Will Be Held

  Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the 67th foundation day of Madhya Pradesh will be celebrated as Jan Utsav. Creative activities will be conducted from the foundation day November 1 to November 7th. CM Chouhan said that programmes would be organized in all the districts for distribution of letters of approval and other benefits to eligible beneficiaries in Mukhyamantri Janseva Abhiyan (public service campaign) on the foundation day. More than 50 lakh eligible beneficiaries will join the programme in all 52 districts. Prabhat Pheris would be taken out: CM Chouhan said that in the series of programmes on the foundation day, Prabhat Pheris would be taken out in all the districts on November 1 with the help of Jan Abhiyan Parishad.  At 1 pm, there will be a programme of distribution of Janseva Abhiyan letters of approval and other benefits in all the districts and in the evening there will be a cultural programme in Bhopal. Maharashtra: Dilapidated building collapsed in Amravati, 5 die

Amravati (Maharashtra): A 2-storey dilapidated building collapsed in Amravati, Maharashtra. 5 people died in the accident, while 2 people are injured. Amravati Police has given information about the matter.  The incident took place in the Prabhat Talkies cinema area of Amravati. District Collector Pavneet Kaur said that many people were present in the building at the time of the accident.  So far the bodies of 5 people have been recovered. Morbi (Gujarat):  Around 400 people fell into the Machchhu river when the cable suspension bridge collapsed at around 6.30 pm on Sunday in Morbi, Gujarat. According to media reports about 90 people are feared dead so far in the accident. There was a rush of people on the bridge, which was reopened for the public just four days ago following the renovation work. Former BJP MLA from Morbi Kanti Amrutia has claimed that so far the bodies of 60 people have been recovered in the accident. These include more than 10 children. Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of a manufacturing facility for C-295 transport aircraft in Vadodara in Gujarat on Sunday.  The C-295 planes would be manufactured at the Gujarat facility with an aim to modernise the IAF fleet. Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered to conduct the fifth and eighth exams in private schools on the board pattern. This has affected 10 lakh children of the state studying in private schools and the school operators are asking them to purchase board based books courses. They have to buy the course again.  244 rupees have to be spent on buying the class fifth course and 542 rupees for buying the class eighth course. Due to this, t he burden of parents in the state has increased by more than 40 crores. The new academic session started from 1st April. The government provided books to the children of government schools. Children in private schools had to buy books themselves. Kishtwar Landslide: Four Die, Six Injured In Jammu and Kashmir

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir): Massive landslides struck a mega power project site at Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.   As many as four people died and six others were injured on Saturday in the landslide at the site of an under-construction Ratle Power Project, informed the police officials. "The rescue operation has been completed. A total of four bodies and six injured were rescued," said Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, Devansh Yadav.  Union Minister Dr Jitendra Sharma said that a rescue team of about 6 persons, deputed to the site after the incident, has also got trapped under the debris. Gujarat: Government forms panel to implement Uniform Civil Code

  Gandhinagar: The BJP government in the state on Saturday said it would set up a committee to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).  Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said the state cabinet cleared a proposal to form the committee during its meeting on Saturday. This is could be be the last meeting of the Bhupendra Patel-led cabinet as the schedule for the state elections is expected to be announced next week. "The committee will be headed by a retired high court judge and will have three to four members," Union minister Parshottam Rupala said. New Delhi: An IndiGo aircraft taking off for Bengaluru had to be grounded at the Delhi airport after one of its engines caught fire on Friday. T here were 184 people on board the Airbus A320 aircraft. Airport officials confirmed that the Indigo flight, 6E 2131, was grounded at 9:30 pm after sparks were noticed coming from under the aircraft’s while it was on the runway. All passengers and crew have been safely evacuated and were moved to another plane, Delhi Police said. In a statement, IndiGo said, "An aircraft operating flight 6E2131 from Delhi to Bangalore experienced an engine stall during takeoff roll. The take off was aborted and the aircraft safely returned to the bay." "All passengers are being accommodated on an alternate aircraft. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers," it added. Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader and Rampur MLA Azam Khan was on Friday disqualified from the membership of the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly. The Office of UP Assembly Speaker informed this a day after he was sentenced to three years in prison along with a fine of Rs 2,000 in a hate speech case of 2019.  Khan has lost his assembly membership as his imprisonment term is longer than two years. As per a 2013 Supreme Court judgment, if an MLA, MLC or MP is convicted in a criminal case and gets jailed for a minimum of two years then he/she loses membership of the house with immediate effect.  Azam Khan won the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Rampur (UP) but he vacated this seat after being elected to the UP state assembly in March 2022. He said it was only an idea and not an imposition and asked the states to think about it as just a suggestion. Rajasthan: NHRC, child panel swing into action over reports of auction of girls

Jaipur: The National Human Rights Commission on Thursday issued a notice to Rajasthan government over reports that girls are being auctioned on stamp paper in half a dozen districts of the state.  The commission has asked the Rajasthan government to submit a report on the entire matter in four weeks.  Apart from this, Special Representative of the Commission Umesh Kumar Sharma has also been asked to visit the affected areas and give information in three months. On the other hand, the Rajasthan Child Protection Commission has also swung into action. Vadodara: The Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft meant for the Indian Air Force will be manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in Gujarat's Vadodara.
