Delhi Excise Policy Scam: Manish Sisodia's Bail Plea Rejected

New Delhi: A special court in Delhi on Friday rejected the bail plea of former Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia in the FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with alleged irregularities in the Excise Policy-2021-22.  The Special Court of MK Nagpal at Rouse Avenue, after hearing the arguments of the parties concerned, rejected the bail application of Sisodia, 51, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody. CBI had arrested Sisodia on Feb 26 The CBI had arrested Sisodia on February 26 after a long interrogation. Later, Sisodia was produced before the special court, where he was sent to the custody of the CBI till March 4. His CBI custody was later extended for two more days. . Indore Accident: 13 Die As People Fall Into Stepwell During Havan On Ram Navami

Indore: Thirteen people, most of them women, were killed when the roof of the stepwell caved in on Ram Navami at Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. More than 30 people fell in the 40 feet deep stepwell.  A total of 11 bodies were pulled out from the stepwell. The police pulled out 19 people with the help of ropes and admitted them to the hospital, where two people died. There is four to five feet of water in the stepwell. Municipal Corporation removed water with the help of three pumps.  After this the rescue started again. It is suspected that some people are still inside the stepwell. Spurt In Covid Cases; 40 Percent Jump In New Cases In One Day; Active Cases Highest In 5 Months; Delhi Govt To Review Situation

New Delhi: Corona cases have started increasing again in the country. More than three thousand new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and with this the total number of infected persons has crossed 13 thousand.  There has been a 40 percent jump in new cases in 24 hours. Aurangabad : Tension gripped Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) when two groups of youths clashed on the occasion of Ram Navami in Kiradpura here following which a riot broke out. About half dozen people, including two policemen, were injured in the attack. New Delhi: The Election Commission of India will announce the schedule for the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections today. Atiq Ahmed Among 3 Sentenced To Life Imprisonment In Umesh Pal Kidnapping Case

Prayagraj:  In the case of kidnapping of Umesh Pal, witness of the Raju Pal murder case in Prayagraj, the special court of MP-MLA here on Tuesday sentenced three accused, including mafia Atiq Ahmed, to life imprisonment. In this case, seven including Atiq's brother Ashraf were acquitted due to lack of evidence. Government advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari said that the court of special judge Dinesh Chandra Shukla convicted Atiq Ahmed, Dinesh Pasi and advocate Khan Soulat Hanif under sections 364A and 120B in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case and sentenced all three to life imprisonment. Seven other accused in the case were acquitted for lack of evidence. Eleven people were accused in this case, out of which one has died. Bhopal: Dr. Anand Rai, who was the whistle blower of the famous Vyapam recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh, has now made up his mind to contest the elections.  In fact, the government has sacked him from the state health service on charges of spreading misinformation against CM Shivraj. In such a situation, Dr. Anand Rai sarcastically said that the government has honored him in a way for exposing Vyapam scam and other such corruption.  He said he was working to make the tribals aware of their rights, but the BJP-led state government was not able to digest his work. Prayagraj:  The fear of death is visible on the face of gangster Atiq Ahmed, once synonymous with fear in Purvanchal. In the case of murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, the special court of MP MLA can pronounce its verdict at any time.  Five accused, including gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, were named in the case. While 4 unknown were made accused.  Umesh Pal, a relative of Raju Pal, who was the main witness in this case, was abducted on February 28, 2006. The allegation of kidnapping was leveled against Atiq Ahmed and his accomplices. Umesh then alleged that Atiq assaulted and threatened to kill him. Now the time has come for decision in this matter.
