The BJP had to face the face of a crushing defeat in the assembly elections in Jharkhand. According to the trends of 81 seats in Jharkhand Assembly, JMM is leading in 42 seats, BJP 28 seats, AJSU 3 seats, JVM 3 seats and 5 seats for other parties.

Reports are coming in as Congress MLA Banwari Lal Sharma from Jaura Assembly seat in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh has died on Saturday.  He died at the age of 65.   Banwari Lal was suffering from cancer. Suddenly his blood pressure dropped on Saturday morning in Bhopal, after which he was admitted to the hospital where he died.  Banwari Lal Sharma was considered very close to Jyotiraditya Scindia.  Banwari Lal Sharma became an MLA after defeating Bahujan Samaj Party candidate in last year's assembly elections.  After the death of MLA from Jaura, Banwari Lal Sharma, the Congress has once again come to 114 seats.
