Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain Resign From Delhi Cabinet

New Delhi: Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, two ministers of the Kejriwal government in Delhi, have resigned from the post. According to the news agency, Chief Minister Kejriwal has also accepted the resignation of both. Both are accused in separate cases. When Satyendar Jain was arrested in May over allegations of money laundering, Kejriwal simply transferred his departments to Sisodia. Jain held on to his job despite being in jail. Supreme Court Declines To Hear Manish Sisodia's Plea, Asks Him To Move High Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to consider the bail plea of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is in CBI custody in connection with the excise policy case. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha said they were are not inclined to entertain the petition under Article 32 at this stage. The bench held that Sisodia cannot come to the apex court directly only because the incident has occurred in Delhi as he can seek relief from the trial court concerned as well as the Delhi high court. Senior advocate A M Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, questioned the need for arresting him, saying policy decisions were taken at different rung and moreover, no money was recovered.  He also said that the lieutenant governor was also part of the policy decision in the excise policy. Singhvi, however, withdrew the plea as the top court observed that it would not entertain the plea at this stage.

Padgampora Encounter: Army Jawan Martyred; Terrorist Involved In Targeted Killing Of Kashmiri Pandit Among 2 Gunned Down

Srinagar : An army jawan was martyred and two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter at Padgampora in Awantipora sub-district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. The official spokesperson gave this information on Tuesday. He said that based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Padgampora. When the security force personnel reached the suspected spot, the terrorists hiding there started firing.  In retaliation, the security forces also opened fire. New Delhi: Manish Sisodia has challenged his arrest in the Supreme Court. His petition will be placed before CJI DY Chandrachud for urgent listing. Sisodia has also raised questions on the manner of CBI investigation in the Delhi liquor scam case. Sisodia’s legal team is likely to mention the matter at 10:30 am and the plea alleges that Sisodia had cooperated in the investigation and the arrest is illegal. Tarn Taran (Punjab): Two miscreants involved in Punjabi singer politician Sidhu Moosewala murder case were killed in gang war in jail. A violent clash broke out between inmates in Goindwal Jail in Tarn Taran district in Punjab on Sunday. New Delhi: Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested by the CBI on Sunday evening in connection with the liquor policy case. CBI arrested him after 8 hours long interrogation. It has been told that an IAS officer of the Excise Department had taken the name of Sisodia in the CBI inquiry.  The officer said- Sisodia had made such a liquor policy, which was not profitable for the government, traders earned profit. Sisodia was interrogated on the basis of this statement. The expected arrest came after over nine hours. He is the second Delhi minister to be arrested since Satyendar Jain. Amritsar: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel posted along the border have shot down a suspected drone that entered Indian territory from Pakistan in the area near village Shahzada, Amritsar, Punjab. BSF Public Relations Officer said on Sunday that at about 02.11 am today, the force deployed on the border heard the buzz of a suspicious drone entering Indian territory from Pakistan in the area near village Shahzada, district Amritsar (Rural).  He told that as per the prescribed practice, the soldiers tried to intercept the drone with firing. The entire area was cordoned off and police and concerned agencies were informed. During preliminary search, BSF personnel recovered a black colored drone DJI Matrice (made in China), which was lying near Dhussi dam near village Shahzada in a partially damaged condition, the official said. Search is being carried out in the area.
